UKGC updates rules: Quarterly reporting now mandatory for gambling companies

A survey among gambling companies revealed that 49% support this decision, seeing in it the possibility to better monitor market changes and to respond more quickly to emerging issues.

Among the advantages of quarterly reporting, the UKGC notes improved budget planning, deeper understanding of revenue, and a more accurate picture of the gambling business state. This initiative is also aimed at synchronizing British gambling legislation with industry development trends.

"Aligning the reporting periods will enhance the quality of our data, as we will no longer need to adapt information from various operators to the fiscal year," the commission stated.

The UKGC believes that the benefits of quarterly reporting outweigh any additional costs and administrative efforts for operators and sees this step as a way to become a more effective and data-driven regulator.
