Increase in online betting taxes in the USA

Illinois has already implemented a progressive tax system for online bookmakers with tax rates ranging from 20% to 40%, significantly higher than the previous level of 15%. This is aimed at increasing state revenue from the digital betting sector.

New Jersey plans to double the tax rate to 30%, highlighting a trend towards increasing fiscal pressure on the industry. In Massachusetts, an attempt to raise the tax rate from 20% to 51% was unsuccessful.
